Macworld 2011: HyperJuice Micro and Mini Battery Packs Recharge iPhone or iPad on the Fly

As the iPhone and now the iPad become more and more capable, either through apps or hardware updates, we find ourselves turning to these ‘all in wonder’ devices for more and more of our tasks. The issue is that we’re now relying on the battery in our iPhone or iPad to last a whole day of heavy use, something that the iPad can be up to at times, at least when it’s new, but impossible for the iPhone. Enter the HyperJuice Micro and Mini battery packs that can charge an iPhone up several times over or extend the iPad’s battery by half a day.

The two iDevice compatible flavors that HyperMac was showing off are the Micro and Mini models. They make a Nano model as well but it’s only got a micro-USB connector, something that may be compatible with iPhones in the future if Apple is forced to adopt the standard by the EU, so will only work for devices that support that connector.

The Micro has a 10W USB port which can be used to charge your iPad, iPhone or any USB device really. You can recharge it with a high powered DC-USB cable or slower with the mini USB cable. It also supports pass-through charging so that you can charge the HyperMac and your device simultaneously. It’s got a 3600mAh battery that can extend the iPad by 5 extra hours or fully recharge the iPhone 3 times. It’s available in 10 colors and can be purchased at Hypermac for $69.

The Mini has the same power delivery arrangement with a full 10W USB port that can charge an iPad while using it. It’s beefier 7200mAh capacity can extend the iPad’s life by 10 extra hours or fully recharge the iPhone 6 times. Also available in 10 colors the Mini is at Hypermac for $99.95.
